Buddy and Oscar's Blog Page.....

Hi there. This is Buddy and Oscar's own web page. We've just put something together which we'll add to later, so please do come back so that we can tell you about ourselves, our friends, and the things that we do.

Buddy-01 Hi, I'm BuddyAnd I'm Oscar Oscar-01

STOP PRESS

Buddy: "Just to let everyone know that Oscar, on Monday evening, got himself the Kennel Club's Good Companions Bronze Award for Obediance at Prestatyn. I'm proud of you bruvver!

I've also been doing the homework excercises with Oscar, though Chris (who's the teacher) doesn't allow two dogs from the same household in the same class. My mon and dad decided to take Oscar because they thought Oscar would benefit more from training.

Our freind Molly (see her picture at the bottom of this page), who's been going to the classes also got the Bronze Award - Well Done Molly....".

Buddy: "I'm four years old, and I've lived with my Mum and Dad since I was eight weeks old. I was born in a farmhouse on the side of a mountain in Ceridigion. Mum and Dad came to pick me out of my litter when I was only six weeks old. To make sure that I went to the right owners, my ear was painted with green food colouring. You can see what it looked like in the picture to the right - kind of cool... Because I hadn't had my second jab against those nasty doggy diseases, when I first went to my Mum and Dads, I couldn't go out (except for the garden) until I was ten weeks old. I remember the first time I went out when my Mum and Dad took me to the beach at Splash Point. All that space after the garden made me very nervious so I sat down and wouldn't move. It wasn't long,' though, untill I went galloping about on my daily walk on the beach. We still go down to the beach every day unless the weather is very bad. I don't mind the bad weather, but my Mum and Dad say that the wet makes my fur go all frizzy - they obviously don't understand what the "frise" means in my Bichon Frise breed name. They also don't understand my love of water. Bichon's originated way back in the fourteenth centuary from the Barbet or Water Spaniel - at that time my breed was known as the Barbichon. So you can understand why I'm sometimes naughty and go swimming in the tidal pools that are left on the beach. Mum and Dad go ballistic, since because I'm close to the ground, my wet fur picks up all the sand which then gets left in the car and around the house. These days I do try to be good and stay out of the water - but sometimes the temptation is just too much for me."

Oscar: "Hi there. I'm only just over one year old. The lady who originally had me had to work a lot, and eventually she decided that it wasn't good for me to be left on my own for long periods. While she was out at work she kept me in a cage. Although the cage was quite large, I didn't like it too much - and as you probably know Bichons love company so I used to get a bit lonely too. Now I never get lonely, I've got my Mum and Dad and Buddy too. And being able to run loose on the beach is wicked. Buddy and me have a great time with me chasing Buddy all over the place. I used to be slower than Buddy, but now although he's a bit bigger than me I can run faster than him, but he can get away from me on the turns (how can he turn so quickly?)."

"Our best friend is Molly, a Bichon-Cavalier King Charles cross. She's about the same age as me, but she's a lot bigger (bigger even than Buddy). Molly loves me to chase her on the beach, and she's a bit faster than me, but sometimes I have a laugh and stop chasing and she goes on and on, not noticing that I'm no longer behind her. If only she'd let me catch up with her sometimes I'd keep chasing her - but why stick at it when I know that I'll never catch up with her because she's so much bigger than me? Molly lives with Pixie, a little Yorkie. Pixie's quite old and almost blind with cataracts. She's also got other things wrong with her. Pixie does like to come on the beach with Molly though, but she gets tired quickly so her Mum and Dad then have to take turns to carry her. Carrying Pixie isn't a problem because she's so small and light."

"We've lots of other doggy friends that we meet on the beach, but Buddy and I will tell you more about then another time."

Oscar (Again): "I'm back. Sorry to have left you in limbo, but my dad hasn't got arouont to typing in my stuff. Anyway THE NEWS...

"Last Monday I went with my mum and dad to obediance training in Pestatyn. Buddy didn't go 'cos my Mum says he's obedient already - but I'd disagree, he just doesn't get caught being naughty. To be fair, the lady who took the classes said that she didn't like taking two dogs from the same household at the same time. I'm going again tonight (Monday 28th January). I've been practicing with my Mum and Dad (mainly my Mum). Anyway, back to last week. There were lots of dogs there of all sorts of shapes and sizes. Even though I say it myself, I was one of the better behaved. One large dog (I think it was a long-haired retriever) who blotted his copy-book - not once, but twice. He was very hyper and stressed out, and did two BIG poops. Imagine that, with all the other dogs and their owners looking on. There was another naughty dog who's name was "Snowy" and was jet black with spikey fur (yes spikey). He as smarling at any dog or person who came within six feet of him. To be honest, I'm not surprised that he was like that - who wouldn't be when he was called "Snowy" and was all-black. With a name like that he's bound to have an identity crisis! Oh, I forgot to mention, Molly came to dog training as well. I reckon that Molly and me were the best out of all the dogs who were there.

Pixie, Molly's house-mate (the little Yorkie) was very poorly on Sunday. She's not been well for a long time now, but now she's having great difficulty in breathing and she was sick and had the runs all over her house. Pixie and Molly's Mum are very worried about her. We went down the beach (Molly, Buddy and me) this morning and met Jazz, a really handsome beagle. Both Molly and me wanted to play chase with Jazz, but apart from a little run she wasn't tempted (I think that she's just scared of being out-run by Molly and Me).

Anyway, I'm now having a rest so as to keep my strength up for another session tonight at dog training. Speak to yu all again soon.

Molly and BuddyBuddy: Hi there everyone. Haven't much to say today (Oscar talks AND BARKS too much anyway), but I have persuaded our Dad to sort out a picture of Molly and me, you can see on the right. You can tell that she's half Bichon, can't you? She's a lovely honey colour. Molly's Mum and Dad took her for a haircut a couple of weeks ago, and (typical doggy hairdresser) they sheared her fur really short, so now she's less of a honey colour - much lighter. Anyway, no matter how short (or long) her fur is, we all love her - and you can see from the photo on the right just how good-looking she is. And she's got huge lovely eyes - I suppose that's from the King Charles in her.
